vaan kulkee mukana, kyltteinä, niminä, muistoina.
20 pysähdystä järven ympäri:
kylän elämä, ihmiset, työt, tavat.
Pieniä hetkiä, jotka rakensivat tätä paikkaa.

Minulle historia ei ole vuosilukuja.
Se on hiljaisia merkkejä,

Pyöräretki ei sulje ketään ulos.
Kun pienimmät pääsevät kärryyn –
koko perhe voi lähteä matkaan.
Testasin sähköavusteista maastopyörää ja lasten pyöräkärryä,
ja tämä reitti sai hymyn myös kyytiläiseltä.

🚲 Reitti kulkee Äkäslompolon ympäri,
Kesängin Keitaalle kahville,
ja jos ei säikähdä muutamaa pomppuista kohtaa,
niin Latvamajalle asti pääsee mukavasti –
kun valitsee hyvät ajolinjat.

📍 Pyörän ja kärryn vuokrasin Sisulta,
kaikki toimi moitteettomasti –
niin jalat kuin jarrut.

Matkan ei tarvitse aina olla pitkä,
kun kuljetaan hyvässä seurassa. 🤍

🇬🇧 Biking isn’t just for some – it’s for everyone.
When the little ones ride in the trailer,
the whole family can come along.

I tested an electric mountain bike with a child trailer,
and even the passenger smiled all the way.

🚲 The route loops around Äkäslompolo,
with a coffee stop at Kesängin Keidas,
and if you don’t mind a few bumpy bits,
Latvamaja is also within reach –
with steady legs and good line choices.

📍 I rented both the bike and trailer from Sisu Outdoors,
everything worked smoothly –
including my legs (and brakes).
The ride doesn’t have to be long,
when the company is good. 🤍

Ei sovi unohtaa jänkää.
Se jää helposti varjoon,
vaikka juuri nyt se on kauneimmillaan.
Tupasvillat keinuvat hiljaisessa tuulessa,
kuin maa olisi täynnä valkoisia pumpulipalloja.

Minä en lähde tänään kauas.
Riittää, että kierrän Äkäslompolon.
Reitin varrelta löytyy maisema, joka pysäyttää.
Suon reunalla ei ole kiirettä,
vain askel, pysähdys ja katse.
Ei huipulle, vaan tähän.🤍

It’s easy to overlook,
even when it’s at its most beautiful.
Cotton grass sways in the quiet wind,
as if the earth were covered in white puffs of softness.

Today, I don’t need to go far.
A walk around Äkäslompolo is enough.
The view that stops me
isn’t on a mountaintop,
but right here—at the edge of the swamp.
