Sisu Outdoor – Adventures with a heart in the nature of Ylläs

Sisu Outdoor is a local outdoor company located in the center of Äkäslompolo, offering high-quality rental equipment, guided tours, a cross-country ski school and hiking shop services. Since 2017, Sisu Outdoor has operated with passion and local knowledge, offering experiences for both first-time and experienced adventurers.

Rental shop and equipment
Sisu Outdoor’s rental shop offers top-quality equipment for various activities. In winter, the selection includes Peltonen Skin Pro skis, OAC sliding snowshoes, Fjellpulken sleds and electric fat bikes. In summer, electric mountain bikes and packrafts are available for water hiking. The staff offers expert advice on routes, weather conditions and equipment selection.

Cross-country ski school
Sisu Outdoor’s cross-country ski school offers private lessons for both beginners and more experienced skiers. The lessons focus on both traditional and skating techniques, and the lessons are tailored to the customer’s needs. In addition, guided ski trips to the stunning landscapes of Ylläs are available.

Guided trips all year round
Sisu Outdoor organizes trips in all seasons. In winter, you can take part in snowshoe trips, electric fat bike rides or backcountry skiing adventures on sliding snowshoes in the Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park. In the summer, packraft trips are available in Kesänkijärvi and Äkäsjoki, electric bike trips and hikes to nearby fells. New for summer 2025, Kerojen kulkijat will be launched – a guided day trip to a selected kero in the Ylläs area.

Hiking shop
The Sisu Outdoor store offers high-quality equipment for hiking, cross-country skiing, winter cycling and trail running. The selection includes products from well-known brands such as La Sportiva, Fjällräven, Aclima and Black Diamond.
